After hearing the call of God and leaving a burgeoning career in the secular club scene to minister in the Christian arena Minnesotan DJ Kirk brings us his debut EP on Dream Music's pioneering Drom dance label. This eclectic, inventive and creative set of pop, trance and dubstep covers all the bases of modern EDM ; showcasing an emerging talent at the top of his game. Skilfully produced by mix wizard David Thulin, this is an upbeat, energetic set. Lead single and opener "Stories" is a collaboration with remixer Unikron based on DJ Kirk's journey to faith; its pumping beats and swirling synths continuing in "Awakening". The Cross Rhythms playlisted "Here To Stay" featuring the vocals of ShineBright's Emily Fertig veers into poppy, teenage angst territory. There is little in lyrical depth here, the emphasis being on the music and the atmosphere it creates; this being highlighted in the throwaway "Tazer". A bright, positive debut.
