"If the Bible was re-written and the writers put me in it, I wonder how my life would read. . ." Right from the off we find Biblical truth written large over the project, starting with the uplifting and banging track "Who Am I?". In the Christian world where ministry often wrongly outranks family, Da Truth rips, ". . .would they say that my commitment to the ministry was strong, but that I never spent time with my wife?" Amen. Challenging is another adjective to describe the album. "Man Up" looks at the problems men face in and outside of the church, a call back to real Godly manhood. So many tracks with so many fresh, live-sounding big beats work powerfully on tracks like "Star Struck" and "Click" while there is a bass drum heavy roller "Why I Do". Interludes describe Da Truth's life story, ending with, "I want to leave a legacy of righteousness, Godliness, so that when people read my life, they may know that Jesus Christ is Lord." Talking of variation - a touch of R&B is added with the vocals of Tia Pitman with "Every Day" and the deeply beautiful "Rose" about his wife. A nice touch is the Rhodes key 4/4 kick beat and soul filled "That Great Day" - a banger with a determination to honour Christ alone. In "I Need You" we have an Usher style track (sorry!) but it works big time! Da Truth rolls, combining smooth flows with clear lyrics. Quality.

Product Description
Each of us is writing a book. The question is: how does your life read?
In his third album 'Open Book', Da’ T.R.U.T.H. asks, 'Are you living for One before many or for many before One' He provokes us to pursue 'Open Book' living - Jesus consumed, truth driven, purpose filled and transparent lifestyles in full view of the world around us (2 Corinthians 3:2; Matthew 5:14-15).
Building on the foundation of his two previous albums, 'Moment of Truth' and 'The Faith', the 2007 Stellar Award-winner unpacks what it means to make God the priority and people the assignment.
In a package of scintillating lyrics and electrifying tracks, Da’ T.R.U.T.H. depicts the concept of living a visible faith through intentional transparency. Da’ T.R.U.T.H. threads the double entendre of 'living for One before many' throughout each track, challenging us to put God before others (first), honouring Him in our everyday choices before (in front of) a witnessing world.
Gospel singer Tye Tribbett joins Da’ T.R.U.T.H. on the song 'Who Am I?' - challenging us to examine the narrative of our lives and ensure that each day is scripted with the precision of purpose, the power of passion and the focus of a godly legacy. In 'Man Up', Da’ T.R.U.T.H. reminds men that 'manhood and Christlikeness are synonymous,' while in 'Rose' he fuses Latin string guitar chords with the enrapturing vocals of guest Lisa McClendon to reaffirm the beauty and worth of a godly woman. On the soulful 'Every Day', Da’ T.R.U.T.H. maps out the path to fulfilling our purpose.
'Open Book' will excite us musically, while challenging us to become radical Christians - impacting the world for the Kingdom of Christ in whatever context we find ourselves.
