This live album is Damaris' eighth, and it proves to be a moving intimate testimony to a singer who has experienced God's grace and is truly singing gospel music - music that proclaims the Gospel! Mixing a variety of songs with spoken instructions, testimony and exhortations, there are times when Damaris is close to tears as she reflects upon God's saving grace. At other times her sense of humour is evident, especially when she shares that her name is Greek for baby cow! Backed by a huge 150-voice choir and a 40-piece orchestra, there are times when this is a magnificent showcase, like on the dynamic "He Has Forgiven Me" and "Christ In Me". On other occasions, this is excellent soulful jazzy Gospel, but then that's not surprising when there are members of the Brentwood Jazz Quartet adding their musical muscle to the recording. This is wonderfully straightforward music with a transparent musical heart that communicates, and is best summed up with her performance of "I Am Not Ashamed Of The Gospel" which could be her theme tune. Wanna be blessed and inspired? Damaris pulls off a sterling performance which will do just that.
