Memphis-based Darien's vocal style has a sound that is somewhere between Leah Nash (Sixpence None The Richer) and Lori Chaffer (Waterdeep) and is supported by a melody provided mainly by a piano or guitar and backed by steady drumming. The opening track "Catch Myself" starts with a catchy piano intro that is joined by a steady drum beat that leads into the vocals. Halfway through the track the focus changes with the electric guitar becoming more pronounced along with the use of harmonies, which creates a beautiful sound. "Runaway" follows on from this with a similar tempo and style to the opening track again creating a beautiful sound. The standout track is "Solitary Heart" which rounds off the EP, starting with a slow melody on the piano with vocals building into it before the drums and guitar arrive as the tempo and pace of the song grows. A debut showing a lot of promise.
