'Do Something Different' is Hampshire-based Darren's debut five track album made with a bunch of his mates. Musically this is pretty straight pop rock with some nice riffs and Darren has a voice with a pleasant edge that conveys the passion of the songs. The songs do reveal the lack of experience with rather too many words for the music to cope with in some places leading to a bit of a disjointed feel. The arrangements and production also show a few weak points, but given that this is not a high budget mega production 'Do Something Different' is still very easy to listen to. Darren obviously has talent and quite a large fan base judging by his MySpace page. Not a bad start and I suspect we will be hearing more from Darren.
