This is the gospel man's fourth album to date and his first praise and worship project. On it he makes use of the production talents of Israel Houghton, Aaron Lindsey and Tommy Sims. There are nine tracks for the listener to enjoy, four of them penned by Lindsey, Houghton and Hobbs, the best of which I thought was the opening track "Lord, We Rejoice". But there are also some wonderful new renditions of more well known songs by other artists: Chris Tomlin's "Forever" and Matt Redman's "Better Is One Day" both benefit from a black church makeover while Richard Smallwood's "I Give You Praise" is pretty strong. On his EMI web page Hobbs comments, "I want to record music that will act as a catalyst towards people developing intimacy with God." I think that he hits the mark with this CD. There are certainly big chunks of sound aplenty with B-3 organ abounding and rich, soulful vocal stylings right up there with the giants of R&B and gospel.
