'Tis the season of the special edition and DH have so shoehorned collector goodies into the new version of their best selling hard music album that even fans enamoured by the earlier version may consider another purchase. On the main CD we have bonus acoustic tracks and a remix of "Undying" by Wild Boar. The acoustic tracks are functional enough but WB's remix is a distorted harpsichord industrial stomp of a track. Then there's the bonus DVD, and it's a little rammed. It has an interview with the brothers Clark which gives insight into DH's history and the making of 'Triptych' plus a 45 minute tour diary featuring interviews with each band member. There are a collection of videos including "Not Ready To Die" and "Infected" from previous albums, "Undying" being the most stylish one on offer. The obligatory album artwork and tour photos also feature. Now here comes the hard sell. there's an entire DH gig on the DVD! And it's epic. Just over half the material comes from 'Triptych' while older classics include "Not Ready To Die" and "Through The Black". There are no overdubs so it's a little warts 'n' all, but come on, when did you last mosh in your own front room?
