One of the best unsigned bands in the USA. Dog Named David are duo Andy Cloniger and John Wallace with a pair of acoustic guitars, a fine set of songs and a bit of a rhythm section to help things along. The title tune from this album was featured on the 'Mindy's Revenge" compilation thus raising the band's presence and a fine bit of pop writing it is. There's more of the same on the album which has been available for about a year. Their sound is the perfect syncopation of guitars and voices both intertwining their way through this set of songs. "I Feel" is slow, poetic and moody; "World Is Round" and "Too Young" are strident; "What I Need" opens the album and sets the scene and boy! These guys can play! Since both guys are college grads, you can expect lyrics that are thought provoking and touching. Sometimes they sing beautiful harmonies, sometimes their voices dance round each other. To be honest, I can see this appealing to fans of Jars Of Clay's slower songs and beyond! If you like intelligent music and acoustic pop, you need to seek out a copy of 'It's Alright' because this private recording is right on the money!
