The Irish country crooner has been releasing albums and touring for nigh on 20 years but this 15-song selection is his first Christmas set. The songs here range from the overused (a carol medley consisting of "Hark The Herald Angels Sing", "The First Noel" and "O Come All Ye Faithful") to a decidedly pleasant rendition of "The Greatest Gift Of All" where Dominic duets with Louise Morrissey. Another J B Jarvis original is the title track which again has a strong melody while his version of MercyMe's "Joseph's Lullaby" is almost as good as the original. The downside is a rather theatric version of Tim Rice's "A Winter's Tale" and another medley which includes the dreadful "Rudolph The Red Nose Reindeer" and "Santa Claus Is Coming To Town". Production by Scott Newstead is on the whole very good and no doubt there are many followers of the veteran who have already enjoyed this alongside their turkey and pudding.
