If you're from the Aberdeen area and have been part of the inter-church ministry Souled Out, you'll have every reason to be proud of this live album. The 15 versions of well known worship songs and hymns, old and new, capture the vibe of the meetings effectively. It's clear that the Doxano band have rehearsed hard to re-produce these songs accurately. Unfortunately, there lies my first gripe. The wider worship music buying public doesn't need another live album with over a dozen songs that have been on too many other albums trying to do the same thing. It's very nice, but that isn't enough! Having said that, with the exception of the drummer who is a bit too fond of his double kick-pedal the musicianship is of a high quality. It's mixed well, but not brilliantly. The best moments are a refreshingly tender version of "Majesty" (the Delirious? one) and a lovely take on "When I Survey" (thankfully, the original hymn). Next time guys though, let's have an album of original songs.
