This is a three-track demo CD from worship trio Dreamcoat and an attempt to move away from an older praise and worship style to try something a little more contemporary. This isn't an altogether bad effort as they have managed to produce a demo that has a clear and balanced sound. The drum sound is crisp and dynamically good and vocals sung with passion by singer/guitarist Ivan. However, in places the songs tend to sound somewhat dated and a little corny. This shouldn't put everybody off, unless you only like current popular styles. The first track, "Healing Hands", is a steadily-paced number that is sung from the perspective of a non-believer asking, "Well, I heard this Jesus set you free/Well, can he do the same for me?" The other two songs are slower and more dynamic with quieter moments. "Calling" has a lilting keyboard part. In a couple of places this song reminds me of Prayer Chain. This song is a call out to God to hear His voice and know His presence. "Only You" is more sombre in mood. This track is lyrically strong, dealing with doubt, confusion and, of course, hope.
