In our 20th century mad rush to do Christianity, simple truths can fall by the wayside. 'You Are The Mighty King' is a Vineyard acoustic collection oozing simple lyrics woven into soothing guitar and piano tunes. Calming piano adds flavour to a main ingredient of rhythm guitar and soft voices - heavily featuring veteran Vineyard composer/worship leader Eddie Espinosa on vocals with gentle female backing. Quite the sing along album including repeat-the-same-words-lots-of-times songs, but may just find you worshipping the King as a child again. Don't buy if you are looking for new songs or deep and meaningful social reflection - some songs are dated and may have been sung to death by your church ("Change My Heart Oh God"). This adds integrity and a fresh feel. Occasional bursts of piano or acoustic guitar solo - calming, fluid, talented, simple, and quite beautiful. The album flows from song to song with hardly a space to change acetate, but doesn't crowd the mind - a small church, upper room, intimate experience.
