The rather sparse sleevenotes are supplemented by the announcer who introduces the 14th Annual Edwin Hawkins Music And Arts Seminar Love Fellowship Conference Choir from the 1997 Dallas conference. This is basically a showcase of the work of the singers and composers al this conference. The styles are varied within the gospel genre, the compositions dating mostly from 1994 and 1995. In many cases the songs are directed by the composers with lead vocals by a member of the same family. A superbly tight band (keyboards, drums, bass and hammond organ) holds everything together but never overshadows the singers. Soloists rarely stray from the score, hence a rather clinical feel to some of these tracks. However, the final track is pure gospel celebration as Edwin Hawkins himself takes the lead in Fanny Crosby's "Draw Me Nearer To Thee". Put it this way. they get through the two verses and choruses within the first two and a half minutes and after nine and a quarter minutes they're still going strong as the track is faded out! An outstanding finale to a fine album.
