The surprise album goodie of the month. A toothsome pretty boy sleeve pic made me fear one of those scrubbed and anaemic pop gospel albums with about as much musical weight as an air bubble. In fact this is deftly arranged blue eyed soul gospel a bit like an early Jon Gibson set with Jon's similar love of Stevie-sounding vocals gliding sultrily over layers of slinky keyboard rhythms. The dance funk tracks kick too with some deft samples. The lyrics are not exactly Schaeffer-set-to-music but still a delightfully executed set of soft soul shufflers. A fine album debut.
