Face 2 Face are a collection of professional Christian musicians who are dedicated to express the message of God's love through a variety of classical rock and traditional music. This album is therefore a bit of a hybrid, covering classical pieces like Pachelbel's "Cannon", Greig's "Holberg Suite" and Faure's "Pie Jesu" as well as very reverent versions of "Be Thou My Vision" and "When I Survey". At the poppier end of things Face 2 Face perform covers of David Foster's "Best Of Me", Elton's "Can You Feel The Love Tonight", Mike & The Mechanics' "The Living Years" and Joni Mitchell's "Big Yellow Taxi". Hmmmm. A strange combination I am sure you'd agree! On the whole I prefer the classical stuff as their choice of covers is on the cheesy side and sadly doesn't add anything to what's already been recorded before. Well intentioned in heart I am sure, but in execution this falls short.
