The worship revolution of recent years has really hit the whole world and while we re used to Matt, Delirious? et al over here, Hillsongs in Australia and very soon the hugest avalanche of American acts hot on the heels of Sonicflood all releasing albums, New Zealand has also come into its own. The Parachute Band s projects alerted us to what was happening and quietly in the background, this band Form secreted the excellent 'Journey Closer' onto the scene. A mixture of pop and rock and loads of vibe, the band are really a vehicle for singer and writer Dean Rush (lately working with Sonicflood as replacement for Jeff Deyo) and this collection of songs should appeal to anyone looking for fresh modern praise music. From the atmospheric anthemic chorus of the closer "Wait On You" to the Britpoppy "Broken" and the mellow feel of "Redemption Day", this is packed with loads of moody evocative worship. Expressive and interesting, provocative and moving, stirring yet catchy, Form have produced an album with depth.
