Francine has a huge voice and amazing range - she is what you expect of a gospel diva. She hails from Miami and is a minister's daughter. Although she has been performing and recording gospel since 1990 this is her first studio long-player and she is backed by producer Samuel Boone in what is a more contemporary sound than what you normally hear - more R&B; on "Need My Prayer" I was expecting Usher to show up! Having said that "Jehovah" does return to more trad gospel territory, but not for long as by track 12 - "Press" we've got a real D-12-style rap (uncredited rapper - why?). The disk finishes up with a couple of remixes of the title track. Francine and her co-writer Samuel Boone do have some amazing lyrics drawing on both well known words (the middle-eight of "Send Your Power Down" is "Power, power, wonder working power") as well as imagery all of their own.
