GK Real are a group of six talented singers and producers who have created some great music here, but unfortunately made quite a schizophrenic album (stylistically speaking). The first few tracks are cutting edge urban R&B, sounding not too unlike Craig David and Destiny's Child, and the gospel message is refreshingly clear and without cliché. Solid beats, staccato guitar riffs, slinky strings and catchy vocal hooks abound, and it all oozes quality. I was getting quite excited about discovering such a gem. But after the seventh track, things suddenly change. I haven't heard such cheesy gospel music for a long time. We're talking dinner for a Dutch mouse. It's like a completely different band. The programmed rhythms and riffs are swapped for real musicians (who are very skilful), but the songs just lose the style of the first seven and become over indulgent, clichéd and repetitive. "Blessed Jesus" repeats one phrase 50 times!! I'm sure this last group of songs could appeal to more traditional gospel audiences, but it really does not sit well with the first set. If I just heard the first seven songs, this CD would have got eight squares, but as it is.

See one thing that is constantly known is that when a great person is born, the devil will use himself or someone else to try to pull down that person but, it can never be possible. I mean this group where right in front of me in Jesus House singing. I have a copy of their CD. All the thier songs are my favorite. It is not easy to minister to the lives of people but by the grace of God, it is not fair that people will send words that are not encouraging, but as one of the reviewer said its just their opinion. I believe they are ministering to please God and not man. I want them a hundered stars and much more from God. When i heard Blessed Jesus, I could help but dance, you know how we Nigerians dance, "komole dada" to the glory of God. Thank you GK real for allowing God to use you and whether anyone likes it or not, your lamp can never be hidden.

This is a lovely album and well deserves 8 stars. I heard it in a friends car and just had to get my own copy so I tracked it down to this site. I'm quite astounded by the reviewers comments " Blessed Jesus" is actually my favorite track on the album. It seems that as a generation we are now more interested in being tickled than edified.

I love this album! Apart from being an evangelistic tool ( i believe that's its primary function) it is stylistically diverse and appeals to a variety of people. The first reviewer should not be crucified for his opinion- that is just what it is, his opinion. However, for the lovers of God out there, this is one album you must have in your collection cos it articulates in song what you might not be able to say in words to Him!

The review on this album is not too encouraging and should be taken off or at least edited.

I searched everywhere for this CD until I got it. That was after I listened to GK Real at the Festival of Life. After listening to the tracks I asked myself a simple question..."Why shouldnt this CD be nominated for numerous awards"....The CD is simply good and fantastic.

I just want to say I love the album and the review seems to be by someone who's either unsure about what real ministry is all about or unaware of the fact that music like GKREAL's does meet everyone's need! I mean compalining about how many times blessed Jesus was sang just goes to show the reviewer is a bit confused. In my opinion this album is one of the best things to happen to the UK gospel music industry.
