'Neon' is the second EP release by "electro-grunge" DJ Galactus Jack, better known to listeners of Cross Rhythms Teesside as Ben Jack. His debut EP 'Reality Bytes' received quite a bit of Cross Rhythms radio play. This new set is a collection of seven tracks which tend to be more electro and less grunge than its predecessor. Unlike 'Reality Bytes' the majority of 'Neon' is instrumental, with electronic synths and drum beats seeming to make up the first four tracks; each track almost progressing into the next. The last two tracks are where the EP particularly excels. Breaking away from the tracks heard in the first half of the EP, "Neon" and "Trailblazer" stand on their own as massive tunes. Both tracks introduce vocal samples for the first time with Dawn Elektra contributing to "Neon Part1" and "Neon Part2", whilst prominent samples of Chip Kendall can be heard frequently throughout "Trailblazer".
