For many people George Beverly Shea is the Crown Prince of gospel singers and amazingly is still very well at 101 years old! His warm, expressive crooning is very well known in Christian circles around the world having been heard for many years with the Billy Graham Crusades. On this two CD compilation there are 24 tracks and I can't think that there is anybody who likes this wonderful singer who will not find great delight in such classics as Stuart Hine's "How Great Thou Art", Ira Sankey's "The Ninety And Nine", Fanny Crosby's "Blessed Assurance" and of course the title track which George actually penned himself. This set represents tremendous value for money although the inclusion of some Christmas tracks on the second disc might deter plays other than during the festive season. It is amazing to me how little instrumentation was used on many of these recordings and whilst George's rich baritone voice may sound uncool to younger ears there are still plenty of nostalgic, older Christians who will appreciate these vintage recordings.
