Cornishman Graham is a singer/songwriter in the vein of Martyn Joseph, with a gruff, rough and ready voice reminiscent of Joseph and Boz Scaggs at times. This set is pleasant and engagingly performed, but I have to say that the presence of Djembe player Sankule on virtually every track gets highly annoying before long. The variety of sounds available from this instrument are missing here, so it sounds very samey, and to be honest, these songs are strong enough by themselves not to need the..er.. "embellishment" provided by Mr Sankule. Overall though, pretty good, though I would advise watching the tuning on some of the vocals, though some would dispute absolute accuracy over the passion of delivery.
