I'd never considered Carman a top worship songwriter and his worship songs on his albums down the years have made no particular impact on me. But here are his worship oldies now dressed up for congregational praise by producer Dan Cleary. Carman is on hand, but not to sing - instead reading Scriptures which bring out the themes of the songs. Musically, it's very, very dull with unison lead vocals blanding out the material, and only when guests the unquestionably soulful Angelo And Veronica step forward for a lead on "Bless God" does it raise any goose bumps musically. But soon this album is back with the dull, formulaic relentlessness of the praise and worship conveyer belt.
