I am punching my PC even as I listen to this disc - not because Cummings has sent me another to be filed under 'Y' for 'Yuck', but because I can't take it off my player! No, the button hasn't stuck...this is wonderful, truly wonderful. Get this - a GERMAN REGGAE BAND! These guys sound like what would happen if the Holy Spirit fell at a UB40 gig...imagine the stonkingly (is that a real word? Anyway, you know what I mean) solid bass and drums sharpened up with percussion, jabbing guitar and a full horn section. The guys sing in English but their mother tongue comes through a little giving the whole sound a different slant but never taking away from that real reggae flavour. The lovely Judi Bailey joins the guys for some BVs. With songs about injustice, racism, the Spirit of God and even the odd Bible story ("Hey Little Man") this album is a cracker and in a musical style often overlooked by Christians. This is not simply a gap filler, it could be THE gap filler. Heavenbound are possibly the most happening thing in Christian reggae in Europe. I'm sure we will see them at next year's CR fest...hint, hint!
