‘To The Ends Of The Earth’, the latest offering from Hillsong Australia’s youth spinoff United, was always going to bring with it a certain amount of hype, but despite the reputation preceding it, still doesn’t fail to impress. Energy flows through the album from beginning to end, the youth focus lending itself to a much rockier, guitar-based sound and providing plenty of opportunities for those listening to jump up and down themselves. Hillsong are known around the world for their worship music and with the talents of such names as Reuben Morgan, Joel Houston and Marty Sampson among the performers on this album, there was never any question of the youth focus hindering quality. Some of these songs, including title track “To The Ends Of The Earth” and opening song “All About You” have become mainstream worship songs in their own right and are popular in their London congregation. Hillsong are calling United “next generation worship” and with the number of talented young musicians in their songwriting stable, we will certainly be hoping for much more of it to come.
