Oboe, violin, cello, trumpet, trombone, piano, French horn and guitars play these great hymns at a brisk almost marching pace. In Southern Baptist churches this interpretation would be well received, I'm not so sure it sits well with these English ears. Hymns have verses, and usually plenty of them, I could have done with the lyrics printed on the CD booklet, because I only knew the first verse to most of the hymns and I found myself singing the same words for each succeeding verse, it may become tiresome singing the first verse of "Near To The Heart Of God" several times in a row. Perhaps not for the singer but everyone else within earshot. The hymns centre around Christ our Saviour and soar in a kind of film score sort of way.
