Any CD which calls itself 'Explosive Praise' suggests either publicist hype or cultural naivety. But such detail shouldn't stop devotees of reggae gospel checking out J E Palmer, currently living in Croydon, UK. This six-track EP exudes a lilting charm and though no truthful evaluation would put Mr Palmer's mini-album up there with, for instance, the best Lion Of Zion releases, it does have its moments. So if you fancy a lovers rock style rendition of Matt Redman's "Heart of Worship" or a reggae run through of the old Maranatha! Music evergreen "As The Deer" you may want to investigate though be warned, the first track is a nine-song medley which gets pretty wearing.
