American duo Jacob's Road are husband and wife Mark and Carrie Robey and they are working as independent artists in the USA. Musically this is pop rock with a bit of an old fashioned gilt to it but seeped in excellent songwriting and strong vocal performances. Like many other bands they make music which is ministry focused and designed to connect with a church audience. Producer Samuel Mizell has given the album a strong rock tinge with songs like "Scream", "Run Away" given an edgier sheen. There's even the intriguingly titled fun eighties heavy rock pastiche "You Ugly". The ballads like "I'm Yours" and "I Choose Trust" have a little edge to them here and there so that this becomes the rockier end of pop. Works well for me!
