This album hit the streets on 15th March and already the title track was on the play lists of a number of American Christian radio stations. The reason is that this Dove Award nominee for Best New Artist has a great album. In the title track Jamie writes and sings lovingly of a God who knows mankind's wounds, sins and regrets, and yet still offers his amazing grace to cover it all as "God's arms are wrapped around us." The song brought back to me a wonderful sermon that I heard by TD Jakes on grace. Jamie Slocum includes in his other songs issues such as forgiveness, restoration and broken relationships and he manages to weave them together into great lyrics. As well as Jamie's own songs there is a great remake of Norman Greenbaum's number one UK hit from April/May 1970, "Spirit In The Sky", which will certainly get those of you of a certain age reminiscing! It certainly did with me. Get this album, it will no doubt be one of the best Christian pop items of 1999.
