You may well have read about this Hampshire-based worship leader on Cross Rhythms recently. This is Jim's impressive 2008 debut album. With worshipful songs that are stripped of over-production together with pacy anthems that magnify the vastness of God, Jim has assembled a great band to back his distinctive voice. With an edge of vulnerability, Jim weaves a majestic and reverent view of God through songs penned over a two year period. One special attraction is guest vocalist, the sublime Cathy Burton on the tender track "You Are The Source" while the song "Holy Is The Lamb" will be familiar to those who've heard the Soul Survivor 'People's Album 3'. If I could make one suggestion it would be for Jim to ensure that his diction in finishing words was worked upon to produce a crystal clear rendering of his lyrics. But this is a minor point on what is a very worthy addition to powerful British worship recordings.
