"I still believe now that I'm walking all alone/And the ache for my loved one like the wind continues to blow." This is not another set of songs assembled to produce a showcase for an aspiring singer, but is a testimony that out of ashes, God can bring beauty. Jodie has penned 12 songs that exude a joy and an assurance in God. The fact that they are dedicated in loving memory of her sisters Lonna and Felicia and foster brothers Lionel and James who all died in a devastating house fire, demonstrate the keeping power of faith in God. There is enduring simplicity to this contemporary gospel album that allows the lyrics to pierce the heart of the listener. I found it hard to keep back the tears listening to acoustic "I Still Believe". "I still believe that the life that's gone you'll some how fill that space" but don't be misled, this not morbid but has an injection of joy on the upbeat "Love Reaction/Whew", encouragement on "Say It" and "Sweet Adoration" that develops intimate worship. Knowing the singer's story does empower the lyrics to provide not just entertainment, but to impact and minister to the listener.
