The black lass who's based in Germany and had a release through ICC a few years back turned up at Spring Harvest this year and wowed  many. And as this fine album shows, she is really, really good. A great voice, some classy production thanks to Phil Madeira, some unexpected guest players (Dougherty and Hindalong of atmospheric rockers The Choir) all wrapped around some marvellous songs with lyrics which are definitely to be listened to. Words that can be realistic and honest but in the end optimistic. We are talking great pop music here - sometimes passionate and heartfelt, sometimes just plain groovy with some cool African swing sounds, enough to make anybody sway and maybe even sing along. Buy this if you can find a stockist of German imports! At last Christendom has a singer/songwriter up there with Tracey Chapman.
