The Life Giver musical was first performed a couple of years ago and features 15 songs linked with a narration. The concept is to simply present some of the stories in the Gospels from the perspective of those who interacted with Jesus, exploring their feelings and observations and thus to present the Gospel to the audience. In true stage musical style, this is easy listening music and the whole CD is nicely produced and here the songs are presented without the linking narration. There are the odd wobbly vocal performances here and there which is a shame and the songs themselves are a bit twee. It all feels like it belongs in a previous decade but the concept is a sound one and I guess anything that might bring the Gospel to non-Christians can only be a good thing. This will appeal to you if you're a fan of stuff by Roger Jones.
