This is international Messianic worship leader Kathy Shooster's fourth CD and is produced by Margaret Becker, a name which will be familiar to long standing fans of contemporary Christian music. It is a delightful album in truth, obviously with strong Jewish/Hebrew influences in places but not overly so, whilst retaining a mellow folky feel throughout. Kathy's voice is not unlike Enya's in tone and quality, but thankfully the temptation to swathe it in reverb in the style of the latter is resisted. The songs rather majestically convey the awe and wonder of God, especially on the opener "From The Rising Of The Sun" or the more reflective "Shelter". But there is a certain intimacy too which is well expressed without being too exclusive. Strong melodies and excellent, expressive lyrics mean that the songs on this disc can be used extremely well for corporate worship, which is not always a given in the current climate. Overall, a fresh and sincere collection of original worship songs.
