An all singing, all rapping team of Polynesian American dance-gospellers, produced impeccably by blue-eyed souler Roby Duke. Plenty of hot programming, some nice fluid harmonies, raps that range from average to crucial and lead vocals that take in Stevie as their major influence. The problem with dance albums as to make much sense, you need to be pulling off 12 inchers and trying them out in the clubs. Presumably, this won't happen with the Boyz which is a shame as they have a nice sound in cooking dance while the lyrics (simple though not simplistic proclamations of faith) make a heartening change from the sexist garbage being spun in clubland. Finally, there's a lovely soul ballad "I'll Be Waiting" at the tail which concludes with Psalm 23 in Samoan! If you're hot to trot, check these brothers out.
