This is different - an 11-song CD with tracks numbered 1-10, then 12. The elusive No 11 goes like this: "Hi! My name is Keith Brown and I just want to take this time to thank you for buying my album when I know there are so many great albums out there...". Profuse gratitude perhaps, but it shouldn't be treated too cynically - it's not a disguised apology for a second rate product! With this, his first release, Keith Brown has set out his stall quite convincingly as a would-be Michael (...W Smith, English or even Bolton perhaps) with a varied selection of classy synth-pop and MOR ballads. More than just a vocalist, Keith has writing credits on every track, also handling the keyboards and drum programming (Jerry McPherson of Amy Grant fame plays guitar), and co-producing the album with Dez Dickerson. His best vocal performances are on the ballads, while his writing talent comes to the fore in the Caribbean-influenced "Psalm 100" and in the up tempo Christmas song "Unto Us" (are you interested Cliff?). Though possibly lacking in instant "grab you by the throat" appeal, This Side Of Heaven' is nonetheless a promising debut from someone with a lot to offer.

Years ago, maybe in the early 90s, there was a song on Christian radio based on John 3:30 'He must increase, but I must decrease.' It was by someone named Keith Brown. I assume this is the same Keith Brown mentioned on this page. I have been trying for years to find a cd with that song. It was a song that was very important to me back at that time of my life. Do you know it or where I could possibly find it. Thank you very much for any guidance or help with this.

Try searching Google based on all the lyrics you can remember. Then you may be able to find the song on YouTube or a CD of it

Keith is an amazing talented songwriter who took time off to take care of his aging parents and now needs to be rediscovered !

Only info located on web for Keith is that, in 2004 he was music coordinator for 2007 movie "Tattered Angel" which starred icon Lynda Carter. I cannot find anything on movie, i.e. dvd to buy etc. Just thought I would inform readers, fans and friends of Keith.

Hey Keith as of NOW, I own a complete library of what you have released on cd or vhs. That should tell you something bro. "Psalm 100" will always have a place in ccm history, it's the first song I ever heard on ccm radio by you. GOD Bless, Don

I had heard the song "Psalm 100" on ccm radio, luved it! I spent a while trying to find it; the cd was out of print when I went to order it. Thank GOD! I found it at a second hand shop along with other ccm cd's I'd been looking for; yes, GOD is good! What a great debut cd for an artist; never get tired of hearing Psalm 100. I remember the ad for this cd, it was released at same time of Michael Anderson's Saints & Sinners cd (which I also have in my huge ccm collection). GOD Bless-- Don

I was a little girl when I first met Keith . Listening to his music and attending small concerts at church bring back the most precious memories. The best memory is having him (someone I really looked up to)show up on Christmas morning with two signed CDs for me! It's strange that I even writing this or thought to look him up. I have experienced loss and hurt and I was laying here praying and in tears, his lyrics from my childhood entered my thoughts and I felt compelled to pray for him. I doubt he will ever read this but I just wanted him to know that he truly inspired my life with his music and I hope he will continue to inspire others . I still can't believe that 17 years later God can encourage me through the same music that he used to encourage me and lift me up through an abusive childhood. God is so good! I think I'm going to look for those CDs now :)

Keith, when I heard your cd, I was 14 years old. What really caught my attention about "This Side Of Heaven" was the unique style and variety of music. I have been a musician all my life. I am 31 years old today. But as I was saying, your music inspired me to encrease my vocal range as a singer and improve my musicality as a musician. But above all, I loved the passion and how you put and transmitted your emotions and feelings into what you write and sing til today. The album, "This Side Of Heaven", not a day would go by without playing your songs. It took me 2 and a half years to finally reach your vocal range. Keith, I am a musician, song writer, composer and arranger today and I must say you trully have been an inspiration to me and a vesel that God has use to bring many blessings to God's people. As one of your songs say, "For Unto Us A Child Is Born", meaning our Lord and Savior JESUS. Keep rocking for JESUS Keith, because remember, one day God will call you home and say to you, "well done my good and faithful servan". God bless you dude. All the best.
