Soloists don't often make such dark emo sounds, droning, atmospheric rock usually being confined to bands with the possible exception of the great Michael Knott. In fact, it's Mr Knott who this New York-based singer/songwriter most closely resembles. Unfortunately, the production quality on 'The End Of Me' is somewhat lacking with Kenneth's vocals often getting somewhat lost in the mix over the swathes of guitars. Also, too many of the tracks here have a similar doomy feel even when the lyrics are pretty uplifting ("My heart's longing for you to see that I love you still" and "Shaded underneath your wings/Surrounded by your sea of grace"). The eight tracks here definitely have their moments but overall the deficiencies of production and a rather strange sleeve concept seeing the songsmith rising from his dead body make this a set which will only be enjoyed by the niche committed to Christian emo.
