Four track EP from a fourpiece band from Essex. Reminiscent of Dropknee in the way they marry hummable melodies with a rootsy pop style. But then they're also clearly capable of rocking it up on the frenetic "Taking A Risk" and they do a good line on moody with "Helpless Man" which has echoes of Bruce Cockburn. However, they sound their most convincing when being rootsier. They seem to have their sights on the mainstream as the lyrics to their songs have no discernable Christian content. Nothing wrong with that of course and enough here to excite discerning music fans including the excellent acoustic-driven "I'll Be Fine" that opens up this EP and reminds me a tad of REM.
