This worship leader and preacher from Michigan released this album in 2012 but only now have we got round to reviewing it. The energy of LaMont's live performance is captured well here with the standout number being the title track which opens the album in a blaze of high-octane praise. The wrap-around sound is provided by a small but supremely tight band and some glorious backing vocals, cleverly arranged to showcase McCoy's flexible soul voice. A stomper is "O Lord I Love To Praise Your Name" while McCoy is joined by the legendary Twinkie Clark for the softer "Work It Out" on which the matriarch leads with consummate skill. The track leads into a dance number "David's Dance Bump 1V". Another good cut is "He Did It Just For Me", led by Ingrid Phillips, which has a more laid back feel while we catch our breath while "Won't Turn Back" has more heavy duty bass and drums driving the action. Maybe not groundbreaking but enjoyable live gospel nonetheless.
