This is the second album from the Californian pianist and is a collection of 11 instrumental renditions of hymns. The collection consists of the familiar such as "Great Is Thy Faithfulness" and "Morning Has Broken" to the less well known such as "Jesus Paid It All" and the melancholy "I Want Jesus To Walk With Me". Sumpter's undoubted gifting means he is involved in many musical projects, but the arrangements on these tracks are somewhat unadventurous and staid so that in truth 'Reflections' is the kind of album you might hear tinkling away in a Christian bookshop. So despite Mr Sumpter's obvious skill on the piano, it has to be said this album is uninspiring and predictable.
