Having long been an admirers of the Canadian-born singer's work when he fronted that most excellent of bands and intrigued how Marc has been able to hack out a new music career with himself as the singer with America's premier Queen tribute band, I was looking forward to hearing this six-song EP particularly as a guest on one track was one of my favourite female singers, Plumb. But any expectations that I might get to hear a recording sounding like an imagined "Freddie Mercury become a Christian" scenario were quickly dashed. Freddie would never have recorded something as dull as this. Marc is undoubtedly a good singer but he needs better songs than "It's Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas" and "The Christmas Song" (the former with Plumb guesting) while choosing "Ave Maria" as the opener is both an artistic and theological mistake. The one track of interest is a rendition of "Mary, Did You Know" featuring the song's co-composer and harmonica maestro Buddy Green. But in truth, this is a set destined to remain unopened under the Christmas tree.
