Midlander Matt has a voice, which at times is not dissimilar to Whitesnake's David Coverdale. He's also a multi-talented guy. On this CD Matt writes, produces, sings, programmes and plays keyboards and guitar. The material, which is mainly mid-paced pop, though perhaps a little wordy at times, is first rate. There are some real gems here, such as the jangly opener "Pray To You", and the lush "Oh God, I Need You". There are some deficiencies in the sound of this CD with an unbalanced mix but considering the amazing offer Matt is making to Cross Rhythms readers - the album is completely free if you drop him a line - this is recommended to all those wanting to investigate a new song writing talent and it would be churlish to go on to much about the dodgy-sounding programmed rhythms. On the plus side, there is some tasty electric guitar, which is well positioned in the mix. But the over-riding feeling is that while the songs and vocals are definitely there, this demo quality production doesn't do him justice.
