This is the debut album from worship leader Pitzl. These 10 rock songs are the result of a desire to write "songs with powerful and life impacting lyrics" that came in 2006 while Matt was worship pastor at an Oregon church. There are some good songs here, a few even that could be used congregationally and, while there's nothing spectacularly original on offer, what is here is slickly produced and upbeat. Having said that, it's worth observing that beyond the odd inspirational Bible quote there is absolutely no reference to the Cross and Jesus' resurrection, and only one mention of sin that is wiped away by "this passion within." Not wanting to get all theologically picky but there is perhaps a danger that these songs lack substance or at the very least a firm foundation - singing "I am free" or "I trust you Lord with my life" and making other such bold claims is all well and good, but worship songs need substance, not simply catchy soundbites or worn cliches.
