On this 4-song tape you'll discern plenty of shades of 70s, early 80s heavy rock with lyrics that go straight for the evangelistic jugular ("There are two gates at the end of time/One is wide the other small" etc, etc). This 4-piece from West Sussex are not to be confused with the Messengers from Edinburgh (note to Christian bands -check back issues of Cross Rhythms before deciding on a name), and for all the guitar pyrotechnics from Paul Winsor, a couple of the songs lack cohesive arrangements while some may find Matt Damper's vocals a tad flat and inexpressive. But these are quibbles a producer and a proper recording budget could sort out and in the meantime here's another grassroots ministry band putting their faith into action.
