This is the debut offering from Myles Kearney, worship leader at The Ark church in Dover, part of the Apostolic Church UK, and is made of 12 songs used in church worship not just in Dover but across other member churches too. Kearney has obviously received considerable backing for this project, evidenced by Andrew Griffith's clear production, some good arranging and instrumentation and a nicely packaged end product to go with a batch of pretty good songs. Style-wise, it's very much soft rock/pop (think 'Father's Song' era Matt Redman), which although inoffensive enough, it could do with moving up a gear in places. You get the impression some of the power of the songs has been lost in recording. Probably the two best tracks are the slow building "With All Of Our Hearts" and the closing "Will I Let You Shake The Ground" which for the most part is just Kearney and his guitar, but finishes with a orchestral flourish that is rather unexpected. All in all this is a very worthy first effort that is just lacking something to make it leap from the large piles of other modern worship releases.
