There are many worship albums around today with a Celtic twist and, in my opinion, many never rise above the mediocre. However, on this project producer Nick Fletcher and Iona founding member Dave Bainbridge have created an album of the finest quality. A superb celebration of the hymns of Stuart Townend and Keith Getty, this album is both inspirational and beautiful, a wonderful tool for worship, meditation and reflection, or simply just to unwind at the end of a heavy day. From the jovial "O Church Arise" to the simple elegance of "My Heart Is Filled With Thankfulness" and the almost cinematic development of "In Christ Alone", 'The Breaking Of The Dawn' takes you on an emotional musical roller coaster with exemplary musicianship. And like all good rides, when it's finished you just want to get back on and do it all again.
