To my ears 'Come Walk With Me' benefits from listening to it more than the obligatory once. As a reviewer this was no hardship, because the album was a delight to listen to. Oleta's rich soulful voice seemed as deep south as molasses on the bottom of a steam boat floating up the Mississippi. Oleta has not just put her unique sound around Christian lyrics but has produced an album which has crossed many genres. This CD transcends the traditional easy listening format and adds a quality which moves your feet in time to your twanging heart strings. This album never shies away from the gospel and each song is littered with bold statements of faith. This album is a departure from the usual we have come to expect from Oleta. Her bold stand and uncompromising album highlights again not only the credibility of Christ centred music but also the work being done in the lives of celebrity artists. We must thank God for people like Oleta and praise him for this evidence of his revival zephyr blowing in the hearts of people in Oleta's position. This album is not an attempt to get an easy payday by trying to fleece the Christian music plump sheep market, but is a genuine attempt to proclaim her faith. The title song is an example of this and typical of the album as a whole. 'Come Walk With Me' is a highly produced credible piece of music which moved me to tears. Well done, Oleta.
