The Gotee Brothers production team (yep, the guys from DCTalk) are quietly becoming the Jam and Lewis of the Christian music industry, producing high quality R&B with that funk edge to it. This CD single highlights the vocal talents of the Kimmey sisters Lisa, Andrea and Joy, and I am impressed by this debut single. Unlike some of the abysmal cover versions of Bill Withers' classic "Lovely Day", the sisters handled this with style, coming across something like Shanice, but sounding much more adult than you would expect for these youngsters. The title track comes in three mixes, all of which are extremely funky. The better track is the second. The other song here, "A Friend", is a powerful mid tempo ballad, which showcases their vocal skills and shows why they are on a Christian record label, making specific references to whom that friend is, the Lord. Watch out for these ladies in the future.
