For CCM afficionados, this collection of the duo's work may best be remembered for what is left out of the final cut and not the 15 songs that got the nod. Yet , for those who may be coming to one of America's top CCM artists for the first time, I guess this is fairly representative. And, to help the new listener, their best known song, 'Wishes', nicely tops and tails the collection. Beginning with a re-working of their 1991 pop classic, this album is sprinkled with classy pop sounds with two new recordings and an instrumental thrown in for good measure. Christine Dente's voice floats on top of Charlie Peacock's tight production with effortless ease, while husband Scott's soundbite lyrics fit like a pair of brand new gloves. The silky professionalism can come across rather passionless, and the pretentious sleevenotes give the album a spiritual authority it doesn't deserve, but for sheer enjoyment on a balmy summer's evening the Dente family are one of CCM's more proficient exponents of Christian pop.

I have this cd collection, along with almost every cd they put out. Among the many ccm artists I have, I got to see them in concert after the release of this cd. If you're an avid listener to ccm, I can't imagine, that you haven't heard the angelic voice of Christine Dente. Their debut cd in 1991,was the first that I purchased. I introduced their music to a friend of mine, and he saw the same concert I did; he has this cd also. "Nothing's Gonna Keep me from YOU" , "The ONE I've been Waiting For", "If I Know YOU", "Steady Me" and the original "Wishes" are favorite tracks. It was magical, and Heaven sent, when Christine joined with Margaret Becker and Susan Ashton for a 1994 project; the result was wonderful!! Angelic!!;esp. the remake of pop singer Dan Fogelberg's song from 1979 "Along the Road". I enjoyed seeing them perform in concert, though concert was cut short due to flight problems. Scott performed with Chris Rice on his dvd "Inside Out". Scott has a nice vocal blend when he adds them on a song, esp. "Nothing's Gonna Keep me from YOU". This is a great duo in the field of ccm; get this cd if you do not have it already!
GOD Bless! - Don
