Contrary to what you may think this is not a re-release from an ex-Russian Tsar (Peter the Great came up when I googled the artist's name!). Peter Gintautas Tautkas is a great name but perhaps not a memorable one, so the abbreviation makes sense. Peter was a member of the pop rock group Rondo who, I'm told, were a number one seller in his home land of Lithuania. After a near fatal accident, Peter "found the Lord Jesus" and is now, along with his wife, pastoring a Lithuanian Church in Dublin. For all his years of music making, this is Peter's first release in English. There is little information available by way of credits, but judging from the cover and a YouTube video of the title track, Peter is a guitarist, and there's actually some nice playing on the disc. Some of the keyboard sounds are rather quaint and dated sounding (trying to fill in for horns, panpipes, etc) and at times rather spoil things, but when the guitar is given centre stage as in "Your Love Is Amazing, True" and "Come Forth" and the big blues rock sound of "If God Is For Us" there is plainly plenty of talent on display. Stylistically there are hints of reggae and funk in evidence as well as pop-tinged rock. Lyrically we're in the territory of personal testimony and worship, with plenty of encouragement to Christians to live the life of faith. A good batch of catchy tunes on offer in a solid release.
