Four song EP from Australian four piece Petrol Money. Creating an angry '80s-influenced funky rock, the band rage against the corruption of society and its desensitising of the soul on "Friends Like You" and "Show Me". On "Created A Monster" the focus returns to the battle of the mind and spiritual struggle within. That struggle is continued in the list of oxymorons presented on the final cut "On My Knees". Musically, vocalist Fletch throws everything into a convincing performance at turns breathy and soulful and then full throttle spitting out the lyrics over the bed of riffy rock guitar with a funky flavour. Well produced with plenty of good stuff going on, I can't wait to hear a full album!
